CLASSWORK:
This project consisted of creating our own design and demonstrating the different uses of color. This section of the class also focused on emotional connotations and the different uses of both colors and hues. I selected various color combinations and demonstrated the effect of color through varying compositions
PROFESSIONAL EXAMPLE:

Color plays a primary role in advertisements. A subjective element, it relies on both the viewer's experience and unconscious recognitions. In this famous WWII propaganda poster, Rosie The Riveter encourages Americans, and especially women, to join the war effort and support their country. The advertisement utilizes a bold tetradic color scheme, resulting in an eye-catching and powerful piece. The use of primary colors creates a persuasive composition, combining the eye-catching happiness of yellow and calmness of blue with the passion of red.

CLASSWORK:
This purpose of this project was to use create a music-festival poster using strictly copy and no images. The class explored the different subjective associations with fonts and type, and the traditional uses of popular types of typeface. Through the use of typography and color, I created various advertisements representing the brand and music of the featured artist.
PROFESSIONAL EXAMPLE
This concert poster successfully uses typeface to advertise its high spirited music event. The use of Sans Serif is informal and correctly matches the context. The custom font of the band name is eye-catching and fits well with the other font, resulting in a harmonious composition.

Target has very successfully professional branding throughout all of their marketing and store elements. Their signature red and white colors are ever present, as is their target audience in advertisements. The physical display and organization is extremely consistent, so much so that a customer feels comfortable whether they have been to this specific store or not.
